Loving this wall paneling detail we created with the @propertybrothers for a basement living area. Here it is, our very best attempt at "power posing"! Really though, we are usually the first in a meeting to accidentally drop an f-bomb, trip on something or leave covered in drywall dust because we leaned on a wall without paying attention to the mess. As entrepreneurs we deal with imposter syndrome daily. Our way of dealing with it? Acknowledge your imperfection, take a bite of humble pie and admit you don't have all the answers! Working as a team and asking questions will only help you learn and hone your craft. When renovating, you can choose to ignore or embrace the history of a building. The previous tenants had an incredible full-height hand painted mural at the entrance of the space, which unfortunately did not go with our clients brand. We decided to honour the memory of the past tenants by taking photos prior to painting over the mural. We loved the rugged concrete floors, old brick and exposed ceilings in the @dynamicyyc space, but wanted a more refined look. Let’s paint you a picture: @dynamicyyc photoshoot is well underway and Bish decides its time to get creative. She brings out the drone. @c.km.leong is very vocal with his doubts regarding flying said drone indoors, but it’s ok because lookout duty is assigned to @miterrenovations who will make sure the drone doesn’t fly into anything. @samantha_dynamic @bamw_ are showing off their treatment skills and for some reason, we are in yoga poses despite the fact that we are certainly not yogis. @mjay.photography is in the zone, focusing on getting the perfect shots via her tiny helicopter. Brendan quietly warns Bish she is getting a little close to the skylight...but it’s too late. Drone hits wall, models scatter, panic ensues. But THIS.👏THIS is the end result. Moral of the story: composing a photo is not just clicking a button on a fancy camera... it is a (sometimes dangerous) art! Bish is supremely talented and we are SO fortunate to have her capture our designs - which, like photography, can be quite the adventure to compose. Trust the professional to make magic - whether that is your designer, photographer, contractor or chiropractor✌️
